I use Zabbix with some custom scripts to look at the http response times and the number of httpd server threads running. I also monitor the systems other items with this software as well.

Subject: [azipa] Linux web server optimization & troubleshooting
To: azipa@yahoogroups.com
I am looking for some tools, advice and or someone to troubleshoot
and optimize a Linux web server.
Here are the problems:
1. Every eight hours, give or take, the server response time goes
from 600msec to 2000msec and then decilines back to 600msec after
about an hour.
What can I use to figure out what is going on?
2. The response time of 600msec is 3x what we expect 200msec. How
can I increase it or insure the server is optimized.
3. What tools can you use to monitor a Linux server hardware and or
software performance?
Specifications:
Running Ubuntu server LAMP on a fairly powerfull server with a
hardware RAID10 array (sata drives). The web site is Zen cart 1.3.7
Thanks in advance.
