Have you tried using gzip from the command line? What<br>does this tell you?<br><br>&nbsp;&nbsp;gunzip mydbarchivename.gz<br><br>(Substituting the name of your archive. We hope it says<br>nothing.)<br><br>What command are you using to restore the database?
<br><br>What error message are you getting when you do it?<br><br>Is the mysql archive made with mysqldump or is it an<br>actual backup of the database data directory? If the<br>latter you may be seriously hosed.<br><br>Need more information to help you.
