Have you tried the du command on it to see if there is something hiding somewhere? THe command may look somethin like this:
du -h --max-depth=1 /path/to/device

I could have been but it wasn't. The thing is I was able to see the free
space before. I copied songs to it and was even able to delete songs
from it under Slackware. It's like it doesn't see the newly freed space.
