i'll think about the mem upgrade. i don't want to put to much money into this.
What do you think about swapping the broadcom wireless card out for an Intel wireless minipci?

If it's an actual socket, like the expansion memory socket, then's it's no problem. One of my thinkpads is the same way - one socket on the bottom of the machine, one socket underneath the keyboard. Both have been
swapped out to 512MB chips. As for the hard drive, it's really common for 4200RPM drives to be installed in laptops, as they are more efficient than 7200RPM drives, meaning longer run time on battery.

Hi,
I was going over the hardware for my hp pavilion zv5000 laptop. I already upgraded the expansion memory, and I've ordered a new 7200rpm drive (stupid HP puts 4200 rpm drives in a lot of their lappys). Now, I stumbled upon a hardware guide that shows where the internal memory slot is on my laptop. Anyone know if its safe to upgrade that?
