I have a question. It seems that everything slowed after I started running the
2.6 kernel Could that be the problem?
I wouldn't think so but as I've said before..... what does that mean?

2.6 isn't really meant for older hardware, that's more 2.4's job. If you're on older hardware,
you're not going to want a bloated experimental kernel like
2.6. Stick with 2.4.
