I just blew my OpenSUSE install off my laptop and am installing Core 6 right now. I had problems with YAST anyway. Just got my first job as a Linux Sys Admin and my company runs about 600 Cent servers so I need to get back to the Red Hat way of things. My file server is running Hardened Gentoo and that isn't going to change anytime soon!

I respect Mr. Allison for standing up for his beliefs and find it inspiring.

Or, you could take Suse, and make it into a BETTER distro! Then distribute that, and note that it's based on Suse as little as possible. Just don't turn into Novell!

I think we as Americans need to do what generations before us have done.  It's not accident America is what it is today.  Our parents and their parents and their parents .... made sacrifices, they stood strong they kept America on it's path to greatness.  Now it our turn to carry the torch!   Take a stand!  Sometimes it cost however that is the price we pay to live in the greatest ever country.

It scares me to see what is going on.  Not just at Novell but in the business world, how employees are treated, HMO's , the  insurance companies, and for sure the Government and their desire to erode the constitution and great institutions like Miranda v. AZ.

I come from a time where there was much less big brother.  It's time to stand up and be counted!

So throw that Suse in the trash!
Write a letter!
Put up a website!

I don't know this Jeremy Allison, but I can tell you he is taking a stance, and in the short term it will cost him, however I think he will be better for it.

When I read that on my RSS feed reader, I was shocked and very proud of Jeremy for doing that. I wonder what he'll do next...

Over the MS patent deal.

I'm having a hard time continuing to use OpenSUSE.  Jeremy's resignation
letter makes excellent points about the "badness" of the deal from a
fresh (to me) point of view.

Argh!  I really like OpenSUSE!
