this is leftover from the switch to ide cd burning drivers.  the older
kernels used scsi emulation with atapi cd burners.  the kernel devs
finally wrote an ide burner driver (called ide-cd) to replace the scsi
generic driver.  It is unlikely that you will have any problems.  note
the reference to 2.5 kernels which haven't existed in a long time.

Thanks JT, its good to know.  It does say 2.5 and newer.  Might be nice if someone could update the messages and docs which still seem to indicate everything is scsi  [emulation] but then it's hard to complain about the price.  Especially with you gurus around to explain stuff for us.  :)

Since I am looking into this whole thing for a group of club people, is it probable there are some issues actually remaining we might want to be aware of?
