The virtualbox in the repo is 1 version older than from the website I.E 6-7 I am using vb 7 in 5-6 laptops with guest additions and bridged network on some and NAT on others as need for each project while virtualbox is based on qemu it not fully open source if that matters but it is one of the easiest to use IMHO tho I have many proxmox machines for work they have many more options with less overhead in short if you need screen resolution or sound or usb use virtualbox..
