I couldn't tell from that link if it actually resolved the issue. Usually I try switching to/from Wayland/Xorg to the other when I have display problems. You can have both installed and switch back and forth in the window manager when you login. For the longest time I had Wayland issues on Fedora with the video card in my machine; but it's working now.
