Years ago when Seagate acquired Maxtor, I swore then I'd never buy another Seagate drive. Maxtor was crap, always the worst drives and prone to failure, now who knows where they're inserting them in their drive lines. Interesting to hear they continue that tradition. That said it'll work fine under linux, just probably expect it to die. -mb On Wed, May 20, 2020 at 8:49 PM Stephen Partington via PLUG-discuss < plug-discuss@lists.phxlinux.org> wrote: > In the now 3 years of experience with Disk Drives Seagate has been the > absolute worst for longevity and durability. > > The only data loss I have had that was not User error has been the result > of Seagate failure. > > > Virus-free. > www.avast.com > > <#m_38435290852530636_DAB4FAD8-2DD7-40BB-A1B8-4E2AA1F9FDF2> > > On Wed, May 20, 2020 at 3:02 PM Michael via PLUG-discuss < > plug-discuss@lists.phxlinux.org> wrote: > >> yeah.... guess I don't need it. thanks for the warning.` >> >> On Wed, May 20, 2020 at 5:19 PM Michael wrote: >> > >> > that is strange.
