I remembered the FAT thing when fsck gave me an error: sudo fsck -p /media/bmike1/SDULTRA64 [sudo] password for bmike1: fsck from util-linux 2.20.1 fsck.ext2: Is a directory while trying to open /media/bmike1/SDULTRA64 /media/bmike1/SDULTRA64: The superblock could not be read or does not describe a valid ext2/ext3/ext4 filesystem. If the device is valid and it really contains an ext2/ext3/ext4 filesystem (and not swap or ufs or something else), then the superblock is corrupt, and you might try running e2fsck with an alternate superblock: e2fsck -b 8193 or e2fsck -b 32768 On Sun, Jan 1, 2017 at 5:27 PM, Michael wrote: > I BEGAN SUSPECTING THE FILE SYSTEM WHEN i REALIZED i FORGOT TO UNMOUNT IT > BEFORE REMOVING THE CARD > > > On Sun, Jan 1, 2017 at 5:17 PM, Michael wrote: > >> I think I gave it a FAT format so I could transfer it between computers. >> So should I format it again? >> >> On Sun, Jan 1, 2017 at 5:09 PM, Michael wrote: >> >>> I'll run fsck but a weird thing is that directories and files have are >>> locked but I can still access them.
