well, I had a lightening strike nearby which killed my  hdmi card. I
replaced that and discovered I also killed my network card. I had a spare
network card but when I plug it in the new hdmi card is killed. This means
the network card is bad?

Caveat-
I'm probably going to need to replace the entire computer as the original
network interface is not an expansion card but rather on-board so I think
the motherboard was fried.
