bandit25@melinda:~$ grep bandit26 /etc/passwd bandit26:x:11026:11026:bandit level 26:/home/bandit26:/usr/bin/showtext if possible don't figure it out for me..... help me to figure it out. For instance: I understand the grep command but why are we issuing it? As for the output of that command: bandit26:x:11026:11026:bandit level 26:/home/bandit26:/usr/bin/showtext user:passwd:UID:GID:?:? After I looked up the password file I was inspired to grep /usr/bin/showtext but after entering it it just hung. :-)~MIKE~(-: On Sat, Feb 28, 2015 at 9:56 AM, Michael Havens wrote: > permission denied > > > :-)~MIKE~(-: > > On Sat, Feb 28, 2015 at 9:30 AM, Mike Ballon > wrote: > >> Oh try a sudo makedev -a if nothing else works, maybe your tty is hosed >> On Feb 28, 2015 2:35 AM, "Michael Havens" wrote: >> >>> I looked at the output with the verbose flags and think IO need to >>> include a tad more than just the last line: >>> >>> debug1: Sending command: vi /etc/ssh/sshd_config >>> debug2: channel 0: request exec confirm 1 >>> debug2: callback done >>> debug2: channel 0: open confirm rwindow 0 rmax 32768 >>> debug2: channel 0: rcvd adjust 2097152 >>> debug2: channel_input_status_confirm: type 99 id 0 >>> debug2: exec request accepted on channel 0 >>> >>> and then it just hangs >>> >>> :-)~MIKE~(-: >>> >>> On Fri, Feb 27, 2015 at 11:21 PM, Michael Havens >>> wrote: >>> >>>> oh!
