I'm thinking it is the router. Look what I found here : { “kernel:… [5710660.580043] BUG: soft lockup – CPU#0 stuck …” This error message appeared up to 10 times a day, different processes, random times. Couldn’t find an answer anywhere. Also had frequent “carrier dropped” messages on the cable modem interface. Replacing the cable modem solved both problems. } I don't have the carrier dropped problem but that might be because I am using the router as a switch. Thoughts? :-)~MIKE~(-: On Thu, Oct 16, 2014 at 6:14 PM, Michael Havens wrote: > hey... my dad is offering me a modem/router for testing. before I go over > there I need to ask if a modem/router can be used as only a router. > > :-)~MIKE~(-: > > On Thu, Oct 16, 2014 at 4:56 PM, Michael Havens wrote: > >> Do you mean the 'BUG: soft lockup- CPU#0 stuck for 24s!
