Dear Colleagues, I'm writing to you after being suggested to do so on your official IRC channel on freenode. I'm looking for someone who could be able to fix a problem for my mother, who is not a very tech-oriented person. The problem is not too difficult (few dependencies, fixing sources.list... something I could fix myself), however, I'm out of the country doing research, I have no ssh into the machine and I'm not able to come to Phoenix right at this time. The box: Ubuntu Linux 14.04 64bit (as far as I remember); new HP laptop, Wifi is primary internet connection; MATE desktop (Unity installed, though), I'm certain no hardware or network issues. The problem: Skype. As you all know, Microsoft axed all old skype clients, so they're unable to connect. What needs to be done: Uninstall old skype, install new skype (4.3) and fix the missing dependencies (we did "apt-get autoremove" over the phone, which killed many dependencies, so now Ubuntu Software Center or even CLI complain about broken packages, missing dependencies - especially libq4-webkit and some package incompatibilities). The quirk: I think I installed the system with Polish as default language - I would suggest installing English language pack first if you feel lost or don't want to use Google Translate. (But please do not uninstall Polish, my mother feels much more comfortable using the computer in her native language). She lives in Surprise, AZ. Please let me know your estimate for the job, we would like to compensate you for the job. Thanks a bunch! Ask questions freely. Pawel
