I want to do an installfest up here in lil ol cottonwood. how should I proceed? 1- I need to set a date and get a venue. Do you think I can get the local community college to donate that? 2- I need to let people know about it. I think I should advertise in Payson and Prescott as well.... possibly Flagstaff. Cottonwood is in the middle of those three places 60 miles to each of them. How do I advertise with no budget? Maybe I should coordinate with the unix professor at NAU. Prescott only has community colleges so they're windows-centric. Embry Riddle Aeronautics is there but they teach airlplane mechanics so I don't know about computer stuff. 3- Arrange for a guest speaker or for someone to do a presentation. I need to dig into the brain-trust of PLUG for that. Anyone want to volunteer to escape the heat of Phoenix for a day? Wait a second, there are people from Prescott and Payson on this list! Do you two have any ideas? :-)~MIKE~(-: ps- I just wrote a note to the computer teacher at the local community college and was wanting advice on the content: Hello. My Name is Michael Havens and I'm an enthusiast for open source software. I was wanting to do something where people who are interested in experimenting with open source software in the area (Flagstaff/Prescott/Payson) would all meet at a central location and have Linux installed on their computer. I was hoping I could get the school to donate a room and internet access to this purpose. Would you assist me in getting this?
