Doesn't 175 KB work out to around 1.5 mb? That's about the rate I got when I had 1.5 Mbit from Qworst years ago. It's my understanding that bandwidth is determined by your ISP. The more you pay, the more you get. With DSL the quality of the line between the phone company's local office and your home is the main limiting factor with DSL. Of course the longer the line is, the lower the maximum possible speed is. I live about 1000 feet or so and AT&T tells me I could get 20 Mb, but they don't offer that speed here.
