Let's go from bottom up: A) Do you have link light on the card and router? B) What does the last few entries in "dmesg" show you? C) What does "tail /var/log/messages" show you [alternately try "tail /var/log/syslog"]: Answer back with that info and we can go from there.... Some things to "try" if you have network manager: Remove the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-Wired_connection (copy to backup), and add a new entry in the Gui.
