How funny, we have two of these in our bedroom holding up lamps (and alarm clocks). When I was studying for Cisco exams, I build a little rack out of PVC pipe. My wife hated it, but it served its purpose. I could add another level easily enough and the parts were inexpensive, a few lengths of PVC with some elbows. A three layer rack was <$15. Ah, the good old days... -----Original Message----- From: Shawn Badger To: Main PLUG discussion list Sent: Fri, Jul 16, 2010 3:24 pm Subject: Re: OT inexpensive home rack Ikea has one http://www.instructables.com/id/The-$70-IKEA-Mini-Server-Rack/ On Fri, Jul 16, 2010 at 1:58 PM, keith smith wrote: I do LAMP development and I was thinking of moving away from multiple CPU boxes, keyboards, and mice. The post on the rack got me thinking. I would like to replace my desktop and dev box with two rack mount computer boxes. Then all I need is one monitor, keyboard, and mouse by using a KVM switch. Actually I would want two monitors. I need to add space in the rack for my printer/fax, and the cable modem, phone interface (cox), and wireless router. Anyone know of a very inexpensive home rack for something like this?
