Mike, I have two Linksys wireless g pci cards running with ubuntu, I don't have he model # without opening the towers which are not easy to get at but the cards were very common a few years ago and are listed by lshw as > /0/100/1e/a wlan0 network RT2561/RT61 802.11g PCI > I also have used a USB Wireless G Adapter which is also a wireless finder with ubuntu. I gave it away to a friend so again I do not have the model but as I recall it was something like WRT54G??-USB. I could get that model # also if needed. I have in my hands a Netgear WG111 which I have used with ubuntu. It is the USB dongle type. I have in my hands a Cisco Micronet 350 which I have used with ubuntu. It is the pcmcia type (or whatever they are called now). I've not seen a wireless card that did not work with ubuntu at an installfest for over 6 months. And lastly I have a D-Link DWL-G520 pci card w/o it's antenna that I could try with ubuntu later by stealling an antenna from another machine for the test. If no one has told you, your luck will be best with a recent version of ubuntu and you might have to go to System --> Administration --> Hardware Drivers and let it check for drivers. It can even install ndiswrapper automatically for some wireless chips.
