True.  However, the reasons why many of us would feel compelled to leave
the various Yahoo services are in that thread.  With many sentiments
similar to what your friend appears to have stated.

The thread occurred before any news of a rejection by Yahoo.

Yahoo supports and uses FS/OSS extensively.  It would have an impact on
the FS/OSS community as a whole if MS were to get control of all that.
