Setting up dual booting with Ubuntu was fairly easy, for me. When you get to the point in the install that you're asked about drive partitioning, simply choose to install in the largest free space, rather than taking up the entire drive. Assuming, of course, that when you installed windows you left space for Linux. -Erik On 11/21/05, G Gambill wrote: > > Is it true (I seem to remember) that UBUNTU wants to reformat/partition > the > whole drive (by default) instead of volunteering to use only the unused > (or > Linux only partition) portion thereby discouraging a duel (sp) boot > system? > I hate to say it but that made sense to me. > > If so, any suggestions, directions or warnings? > > I want to install UBUNTU 5.1 a drive half of which is Win 2K and hope to > be > fairly warned. > > TIA > > George > > > > --------------------------------------------------- > PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us > To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change you mail settings: > http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss >
