The distro is PkgLinux. (My own distribution that I have developed for a
couple years. Anyone want to play? help?)

The KDE is kdebase-3.3.2nb3 and kdelibs-3.3.2nb7 (pkgsrc packages).

Currently building Linux packages for kdelibs-3.4.0 and kdebase-3.4.0.

I think it may be an add-on package for the "right-click, extract to..."
option. Maybe I need to install libarkplugin or ark.

Try installing the package kdebase-servicemenu. Most of the compress/uncompress stuff appears to be in there.
