I'd recommend removing bits of the .config/$dir or .cinnamon directories for it, and logging out/back in, just rebuild your settings.

Moving around different KDE versions, I'd find it'd freak out due to some change in handling of the config files that wasn't perfectly migrated to.  Usually removing .kde or .config/kde* directories works, I'd recommend the same for cinnamon/mate, and eventually the gtk folders as well if still not behaving, as they tend to bleed over to everything.

Using mate for a bit was a bugger between upgrades, I had to clear its conf directories a few times for it as well.

I did a system update today and now I have a couple of serious problems.

I use Thunderbird mail and today I have reminders that won’t go away. I tried dismiss and snooze and dismiss all, tried the X in the upper corner and close in the panel bar at the bottom of the screen. It closes and comes right back.

I also use Audicity and it’s giving me a debug report when I open the program. That is also new today after the update. When I click on the OK button, it clears the debug report and closes the program.

These are the only two programs I’ve used so far today, so I don’t know what else lurks in my system.

What I would like to do is undo the upgrade and redo the upgrades one item at a time.

I’ve looked online but can’t locate how to undo updates.

I am using Mint 18. My Update Manager is set to “Optimize stability and Security”. I am allowing level 1,2 and 3 updates only. My update preferences are set to default settings.

51 updates were installed today. My last update was 08/02.

Can anyone tell me how to undo todays update.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
