PLUG will be meeting at 7pm it's NEW home. See http://phxlinux.org/meetings/14-east-valley-meeting.html for map and other info. Desert Breeze Substation 251 North Desert Breeze Blvd Chandler, AZ 85226file:///home/brian/Desktop/pics-need_to_sync/annivesary-2013/plug_location.jpg The Desert Breeze Substation is on Chandler Blvd and Desert Breeze Blvd, which is half way between McClintock and Rural. It is very close to both the south 202 and 101 freeways. Public transportation is available into the late hours. I would like to thank Shawn Badger for arranging for this new location. To get to the room that we meet, just enter the door that faces Desert Breeze and make your first left, you can't miss it, as it's the only place to go. The new facility appears to be very nice, and should make for a good new home. This month's presentation will be Walter Mack on GNU Plot. Walter Mack is a consultant in the Phoenix metro area, specializing in C++/C software development, primarily on the Linux platform. Abstract Gnuplot is a handy program to quickly get plots of data series. It can use text files as input, and is therefore a convenient backend to graph data obtained by shell scripts, etc. The presentation will give an introduction to gnuplot (showing the use of some often-used commands), a few examples of how to use gnuplot with scripting to visualize data. It will also compare gnuplot to other plotting solutions, such as spreadsheet programs. Brian Cluff
