I've had very good experience with iRiver's iMP-350 [http://www.iriveramerica.com/products/iMP-350.aspx]. Works great, feature filled, and relatively inexpensive considering all it's got. I understand your hesitation, but this is just one testimonial for iRiver products. P.S. How many CD players do you know of that can be upgraded? :-P No ogg, yet.
