Bill, Went to http://www.backports.org/ . Stepped through "packages" and found 3.0.3 at "http://www.backports.org/debian/dists/stable/samba/binary-i386/". Went back to http://www.backports.org/ and searched of "samba". Added (per the search) the following line to "/etc/apt/sources.list" towards the bottom (before the CD section). deb http://www.backports.org/debian/ woody samba Performed "apt-get update". Performed "apt-get upgrade" which resulted in: The following packages have been kept back Samba samba-common swat 0 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 3 not upgraded. Also, after the upgrade, "dpkg --list | grep samba" (per Derek) still shows 2.2.3a-13. for both samba and samba-common I have no idea where to go from here. Therefore ...Help!!! and thanks, George --- Origional Message --- Author: Bill Jonas Subject: Re: Debian Woody and Samba 2.0 up-grade to 3.x On Wed, Jun 02, 2004 at 03:07:13PM -0700, George Gambill wrote: > Want 3.x No reply necessary.
