I found a few good 8 port links’s commercial grade switches at a local goodwill (in original packaging complete with power supply. Could be had for about $7. Similar items can be had at Walmart or Best Buy for about $60. Since inventory at any of the local goodwill stores changes rapidly, YMMV on the lookout. The one switch I have found that is data center capable (managed by external port or by app) is the one I am currently using for the house. I just wish it had POE. -Eric From the Central Offices of the Technomage Guild, Equipment procurement Dept. > On Nov 19, 2024, at 4:30 PM, Keith Smith via PLUG-discuss wrote: > > Hi, > > I home office and have a home office Internet connection which allows me to run servers. > > I am using a consumer grade router that has WIFI and 4 RJ11 ports.
