I just dabble with GIMP and Imagemagick. I've never worked with ARW files, but, they don't look like they're particularly special. I would just open them with GIMP and use File / Export As... to convert them to jpeg. Gimp will make the conversion based on what you give for a file extension, and present you with appropriate options. Imagemagick is a collection of utilities, mostly or entirely CLI based.
