Well, if you want to use a cluster, try installing open_CL. This will allow you to create a cluster for computational intensive tasks (like password cracking, set at home, etc.). You may also use one of those laptops as a basic router with wi-fi capability. It will most certainly be far more powerful than an equivalent router given it’s CPU and memory availability. -Eric From the Central Offices of the Technomage Guild, Hardware Infrastructure support Dept. > On Dec 18, 2019, at 8:37 AM, Seabass wrote: > >> Today I realized that I have many computers that are stored in too many >> location around the house. >> I pick up many laptops and computers from around the place, but I have >> just hit the point of realizing "I can't actually use all this...." >> So unless somebody knows how I can use all these and turn it into a >> beowolf cluster or something: >> >> What do you guys like to do with old hardware, some of which isn't easily made into Linux (mostly laptops)? > > > > > --------------------------------------------------- > PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.phxlinux.org > To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change your mail settings: > https://lists.phxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss --------------------------------------------------- PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.phxlinux.org To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change your mail settings: https://lists.phxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss
