Didn't they ultimately decide to fork and leave Gnome because the developers of Gnome refused to work with and or cooperate with the Canonical guys? The Gnome people haven't changed one bit, so Canonical must have forgotten and they suddenly think the Gnome guys will welcome their code bits? I don't see that happening at all.
