Try: mv ~/.mozilla ~/DOT.mozilla You will lose any passwords and what not, but if that stops the crashing, at least you know where it is coming from. You can restore it later if need be. == Rusty replied: Try renaming ~/.mozilla/firefox to something else and then restarting firefox. The directory with ALL your firefox 'stuff'. If renaming it makes firefox work ... Thanks guys. I tried both, but it still crashes. I even deleted all known mozilla and firefox and did a complete fresh install from synaptic, and it still keeps crashing on startup. Everything else on my system is working fine.
