This is why people unlock bootloaders and run 3rd party roms - regaining ownership of the device you bought. Sad you even have to. If you can root without unlocking the bootloader, even better, just use titanium backup to "freeze" them, which will remove the icon and make them inert from running. Titanium backup alone is a good reason to root your phone - one click backup/restores! If you do decided to just abandon the image, which I'd recommend if possible for the platform, Cyanogen base is usually a good bet as stated, otherwise a more customized version of it release under any other number of names/platforms. I always like PAC-Roms on my xperia's, if for nothing else than the pacman sounds for notifications and like. Another upside is ability to run adaway to block absurdly rampant ads. My latest phone isn't rooted, and the perpetual ads trying to take over are insane. I browse the web as little as possible on it... -mb On 07/26/2016 04:34 PM, joe@actionline.com wrote: > I have several apps on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 that I did not install > and do not want, but I have been unable to find a way to get them deleted > off of my phone. > > Any suggestions? > > I have tried all the steps explained by Google. > > Playstore > menu > My apps & games > Bloomberg (one of the unwanted apps) >> (but there is no "uninstall" option) > Settings > General > Application manager > (the app I want to delete is > not listed there) > > I keep getting update notices for several of these unwanted apps and > cannot find any way to kill them off. > > > > --------------------------------------------------- > PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.phxlinux.org > To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change your mail settings: > http://lists.phxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss --------------------------------------------------- PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.phxlinux.org To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change your mail settings: http://lists.phxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss
