To be quite frank it does not provide any features we need and is not worth the risk (real, perceived, or as dictated by a legal and accounting department with or without expensive technical research and trials). We support many thousands of servers (large, physical servers) and millions of databases. Switching engines is not something to take lightly. If we used fusion IO (oh how nice that would be) then perhaps. But even then the percona patched innodb is very close in performance. Remember, percona has a lot of features in there innodb that are not stock, fast and effective compression, asynchronous drops, better purge performance, etc, etc, etc. We just don't need to worry about the xtra layer. Which, depending on use case, can hinder performance by spinning additional cpu cycles without increasing throughput. So I guess I have to ask. Why do you use xtradb? What is in xtra that compels you to use it? Also which innodb engine were you using before you switched?
