Eau contraire, mon frere. ;) I access the list via gmane.org's newsreader, so the lists I subscribe to never hit _my_ mail server. I'm a little surprised that gmane.org's server didn't catch it. Personally, I run spamdyke and spamassassin (part of http://qmailtoaster.com/), with excellent results (1-2 or so spams per day in my spam folder with none in my inbox). I haven't verified to see if this original message would have been rejected by either or not though (I don't see the original headers in the newsreader). Besides which, as I'm sure you know, once the spam is accepted and posted by the list server, it's much more difficult (and more resource intensive) to detect.
