I wouldn't use one of these for a long term connection, but for data recovery I expect it'd work fine. I'd give this a shot. For long term use, I like and recommend Acomdata enclosures. I have several of them, and their customer support is tops. They even replaced a couple of power transformers for me that were past the warranty period (they were older style PATA enclosures).
