I have always been a fan of the lean site, if you smear graphics and animation all over the place it is usually at the expense of content on the site. this is a lazy way of doing it and i have never really liked a site that fell back to that to try and stand out. i understand if you are presenting something visual you want to make the site work in that manner, however this should be an accent not the body of your site. and this becomes even more obvious when you start talking accessibility and it all leads to sloppy/lazy code.. -- A mouse trap, placed on top of your alarm clock, will prevent you from rolling over and going back to sleep after you hit the snooze button.
