I use to set a forever lease on my IPs in my router software. This worked well until I ended up with a power outage. All my IPs would lose their lease since my router isn't on a UPS. This didn't work well for my MythTV PC since it stopped working. I ended up setting up static IPs for my home PC and my MythTV PC. I still wanted DHCP since I connect with a laptop at times so I set my router to assign IPs above the two other PCs IPs. --- On Fri, 10/1/10, joe@actionline.com wrote: > From: joe@actionline.com > Subject: Why do my local network ip addresses keep changing? > To: plug-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us > Date: Friday, October 1, 2010, 7:04 PM > > I have four computers on my local network, 3 of which > access by wireless. > While most will go along working fine for a while, > occasionally the ip > number changes on some of them. > > Why does that happen and is there any way to prevent that > or to be able to > reset the ip# back to what it was? > > > > --------------------------------------------------- > PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us > To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change your mail > settings: > http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss > --------------------------------------------------- PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change your mail settings: http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss
