moin moin, Community college classes are starting soon. The bash shell scripting class is part of MCC's Linux Networking degree. The class will cover using basic command line usage, the shell environment and writing shell scripts for Linux. Skills will also be usable for *BSD and other UNIX and UNIX-like environments. Important: BII has moved to MCC's Dobson and Southern campus. CIS239DL is an 8 week course running Mondays and Wednesdays from 18:00 to 21:55. Class starts August 23rd in BA 1E on Mesa Community College's Dobson and Southern campus. Lots of parking to the east of the classroom. Command line instruction will cover common utilities such as grep, sed and find as well as using shell features such as history editing, command completion and subshells. Shell environment instruction will include creating shell scripts and writing one-liners for simplifying command line tasks. Shell scripting will include: basic control structures; pipes and redirection; functions; arrays; regular expressions; globbing/wildcards; shell arithmetic; and using external commands.
