I'm not saying that bringing water to AZ is bad or regulating its flow is necessarily bad. What I am saying is our government is way too large and expecting them to solve your problems may not be reasonable. So far you have pointed to employment issues and economic growth as issues the government is failing at. I disagree. Economic growth is not a government issue, unless you are talking out growth being stifled by out of control government spending and over taxing us. I worked in a place in the valley that was abusive. Everyone was up in arms. I suggested a walk out. No one was willing to take action. None of those people are at that place. They picked each one of us off one by one. If a person is not willing to make the change than why would government do so? What does government owe anyone? Don't look to the government, look inside yourself and make something happen. One thing you fail to notice is places like Godaddy while not the best place to work helps people build skills. I know several people that worked for Godaddy that now are self employed. There is a good side to Godaddy and 2wire. ------------------------ Keith Smith --- On Sun, 8/2/09, Joshua Zeidner wrote: > From: Joshua Zeidner > Subject: Re: Geek/Tech/Entrepreneur Stuff to do in PHX > To: "Main PLUG discussion list" > Date: Sunday, August 2, 2009, 2:43 PM >   you mean before the Salt River > Project? > >   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salt_River_Project > >   -jmz > > On Sun, Aug 2, 2009 at 2:10 PM, keith smith > wrote: > > > > Hold on.  This was a thriving area while government > was near non-existent. > > > > ------------------------ > > Keith Smith > > > > > > --- On Sat, 8/1/09, Lyle Tuttle > wrote: > > > >> From: Lyle Tuttle > >> Subject: Re: Geek/Tech/Entrepreneur Stuff to do in > PHX > >> To: "Main PLUG discussion list" > >> Date: Saturday, August 1, 2009, 10:02 PM > >> > >> > >> At 09:43 PM 8/1/2009, you wrote: > >> > >>  ok... > >> I'll bite on this > >> one primarily because this is fun.  and > >> > >> thanks for the complements! > >> > >> > >>  when considering the Libertarian argument the > key > >> point is > >> > >> Infrastructure.  Interestingly, AZ is the most > >> libertarian state > >> by > >> > >> far but *relies the most on infrastructure*!  > There is > >> nothing > >> out > >> > >> here but space.  We have to bring in most of our > >> water. > >> This is done > >> > >> by the government (which you indicate below).  So > in > >> other words > >> it > >> > >> was none other than the *government* that made > life > >> possible out > >> here. > >> > >>  Strangely Arizonans don't like to recognize > that > >> fact.  You > >> can buy > >> > >> your own plot of land and play Davey Crockett.  > Have > >> fun digging > >> your > >> > >> well, hope you hit water on your first drill! hope > your > >> aquifer > >> doesnt > >> > >> run dry. > >> > >> It might, with the new, high water usage solar > power > >> stations they are > >> building -- one in Casa Grande and another in > >> Buckeye...... > >> > >> > >> > >> > >> -----Inline Attachment Follows----- > >> > >> > --------------------------------------------------- > >> PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us > >> To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change your mail > >> settings: > >> http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss > > > > > > > > --------------------------------------------------- > > PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us > > To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change your mail > settings: > > http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss > > > --------------------------------------------------- > PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us > To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change your mail > settings: > http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss > --------------------------------------------------- PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change your mail settings: http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss
