I would bet that a 400ft cable would work just fine. I worked in a building where we had a few 600 and 700 ft lines. There were some intermittent problems, but they usually worked well. We eventually put in a switch to serve that side of the building, but the switch was on a 700 ft line and it worked fine. If it's for just one line, try the 400 ft first and if you have problems go with the switch. If it's multiple, run a 400 for the switch, and then feed the systems from the switch. -----Original Message----- From: plug-discuss-bounces@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us [mailto:plug-discuss-bounces@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us] On Behalf Of Nathan England Sent: Thursday, February 19, 2009 12:54 AM To: Main PLUG discussion list Subject: Re: OT:Switch boosts ethernet? I've not tried it, any takers? nathan --------------------------------------------------- PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change your mail settings: http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss --------------------------------------------------- PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change your mail settings: http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss
