I'm working on a system (server with PXE boot and kickstart) that simplifies the below process to: 1. Buy new Optiplex from Dell 2. Open box, unpack computer 3. Connect computer to keyboard/power/network and turn on 4. Enter MAC address, IP, name on server 5. 5-7 minutes later, disconnect computer and put in user workspace 6. Repeat process with next box. --- Craig White wrote: > On Fri, 2007-11-09 at 09:48 -0700, Dan Lund wrote: > > I prefer CentOS for pure stability and > reliability, and Gentoo or > > Debian for custom configurations. > > I just have issues personally with running > something Red Hat uses as a > > beta test-bed for it's future product. > ---- > actually, it's a great desktop OS for our > non-profit. > > unattended/automated kickstart installation > including configuration from > local lan repository. > > 1.
