In another words, no much of a PC. I got a 800MHZ PIII, 256meg mem, 18g hd. Way over kill but hey it all works!!!! I'm using a soekris for that purpose. It's got 128M RAM and runs at a blistering 267MHz. I've got a mini-pci wifi card in it so it's my access point, and it has 3 ethernet ports that you can do what you please with. It's pricey compared to a WRT54GL, but it's very cheap and power efficient compared to a dedicated FW computer. I'm running OpenBSD on mine, but they run Linux just peachy. I bet IPCop would run on one as well. Not that *I* would give up OpenBSD for edge devices... ;-) -- Darrin Chandler | Phoenix BSD User Group | MetaBUG dwchandler@stilyagin.com | http://phxbug.org/ | http://metabug.org/ http://www.stilyagin.com/ | Daemons in the Desert | Global BUG Federation --------------------------------------------------- PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change your mail settings: http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss
