This happens to me when ever I move my public IP and for get to have my ISP set up the RDNS pointer. DNSstuff.com can show you what you resolve to but your forward looking name to IP DNS entry must match the reverse IP to DNS entry. If your DNS provider is also your ISP they should do it at the same time but if you ISP is not the same as your DNS provider you will have to call them and make sure the owner of the IP block (Your ISP) sets up the RDNS point to resolve to your name. -----Original Message----- From: plug-discuss-bounces@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us [mailto:plug-discuss-bounces@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us] On Behalf Of Nathan Aubrey Sent: Tuesday, June 26, 2007 11:19 AM To: PLUG Discussion List Subject: Mail Servers and DIY I have been noticing more and more mail servers in the world will not accept messages from my mail server. My mail server only accepts messages from the local network, has a static IP, and yesterday I got the reverse dns setup. But is there something else that needs to be done so other mail servers will accept messages from me? Such as AOL? Juno? Some AT&T servers... Is there a place to register a legitimate mail server or something? Or am I left to contact all these places and inform them my mail server is legit?
