If you Change to su with no options, it leaves you with most of the environment variables you had as the user. Specifically, /sbin is probably not in your PATH. I seem to remember typing "su -" instead of just "su" in these situations, to cause the new shell to have a more "normal" environment for the root user, but the man page for su on this systems doesn't show that option, so it may not be the best way to do it. > Also, why is it when I log in as root and run synergys I can move my > mouse freely across all my screens, but why it runs as itself (init'ed) > or as some other user I am locked to the FC screen when a menu is down, > or beryl is doing it's preview thing, etc. I want synergys to work as > well as it does when root but without having to log in as root. I don't understand the question, can't help here. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
