I use it for backing up my home systems and also at work. I added a bit of scripting to create symlinks so that the past state of my filesystems are available on line. Here is a directory listing of my /backup directory. > $ ls /backup > ./ 20060702@ 20070107@ 20070318@ 20070411@ 20070417@ > ../ 20060806@ 20070128@ 20070325@ 20070412@ 20070418@ > 20060101@ 20060903@ 20070218@ 20070401@ 20070413@ 20070419@ > 20060402@ 20061001@ 20070225@ 20070408@ 20070414@ 20070420@ > 20060507@ 20061105@ 20070304@ 20070409@ 20070415@ 20070421@ > 20060604@ 20061203@ 20070311@ 20070410@ 20070416@ 20070422@ My full fs hierarchy exists under each date-named symlink as of that date. If a file didn't change between snapshots, it shared between the snapshots via hard links. It has come in handy when I have accidentally removed or overwritten a file. -Dale Farnsworth --------------------------------------------------- PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change you mail settings: http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss --------------------------------------------------- PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change you mail settings: http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss
