Based on my one experience I recommend a laptop with a full Intel chip set, including the graphics adapter. Except for a binary for the wireless networking, all the Intel drivers are open source and well supported in recent Linux distributions. My notebook is the Toshiba M105-S3041. I posted a review of it a couple of weeks after I got it early in the fall. http://plug.phoenix.az.us/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=103&Itemid=27 I will soon be looking for a notebook for my wife. Please let us know what you found and how it went.
