Craig, ( shouldn't this be on the development list? ) There is no such way to define a variable or macro in CSS, but there are powerful ways to define things globally that 'cascade' throughout the document. Make sure you understand how classes work in CSS. Most likely if you are having to define a color many times throughout the CSS document, you are not using it correctly. -jmz On 2/7/07, Craig White wrote: > I can't find anything in w3.org specifications on stylesheets that > suggests that I can do this but is it possible to have a 'variable' that > I could substitute within a single stylesheet? > > What I am looking for is to define a color - say medblue = #466AD2 > > and then use &medblue; or whatever to refer to it in various > classes/id's > > Possible? > > -- > Craig White > > --------------------------------------------------- > PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us > To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change you mail settings: > http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss > -- ( 602 ) 490 8006 jjzeidner@gmail.com --------------------------------------------------- PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change you mail settings: http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss
