COOOOOOL man. sorta Well, I modified /boot/grub/menu.lst and the new kernel shows on the boot screen but when it tries to boot I get a kernel panic. I made the two kernel boot options identical so I don't know how to fix it. It is complaining about the 'root=' line. Unfortunately, my template (the 2.6 kernel entry) doesn't have a 'root=' line so my creation doesn't either. Here is the relevant lines from pico /boot/grub/menu.lst: title Mepis with the 2-4 kernel root (hd0,0) kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.4.27-2-k6 boot title MEPIS with kernel 2.6.15-26-386 root (hd0,0) kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.15-26-386 root=/dev/hda1 nomce quiet vga=791 acpi=off boot On Thursday 18 January 2007 9:00 pm, JT Moree wrote: > You should have menu entries at boot for both kernels.
