I have played with all of them at some point or another and I try to install every new version that comes out just to see what's new. I still run archlinux on all my stuff as it is extremely fast, has just about every package I have ever wanted, is extremely fast, updates like a charm and I've never had any form of update problem. And did I mention it's really fast? It's faster than all the gentoo systems I've used... The only thing is, I haven't tried a 3D desktop yet, as I just don't see the point... But hey, mp3's play right out of the box! http://www.archlinux.org/ nathan On Tuesday 17 October 2006 22:05, Josh Coffman wrote: > must have missed your post... > i don't mind bleeding edge; i just don't want to spend hours fixing things > like i did on fc4... actually part of why i picked fc4 to convert to linux; > lots stuff worked just enough i manually fixed to learn it. > > but i'm over that now, my day job keeps me way to busy. > i want 3d desktop, multimedia (even avi, streaming, etc), kde, fast distro, > and up-to-date packages. > > considering my family also uses this laptop, do you think sabayon would fit > the bill? > > > > > ----- Original Message ---- > From: Patrick C > To: Main PLUG discussion list > Sent: Tuesday, October 17, 2006 9:41:33 PM > Subject: Re: another fc6 slip > > Actually, I think I replied.
